A recycling point has had to be closed due to a rat infestation.
A Brighton and Hove City Council spokesman confirmed its Hollingbury recycling point, near Holllingbury Golf Course, has been closed while the council deals with the rats.
A council spokesman said: “Unfortunately, there has been an issue with rats at our Hollingbury recycling point near the golf course.
“We believe this has been caused by people leaving food containers and other waste there, despite the fact that it is only a recycling point.”
The spokesman said the council has worked with its pest control team to tackle the problem and expects to be able to re-open the recycling point sometime today.
