The current longest-serving MP has been reselected as a candidate for the next general election.
Sir Peter Bottomley, who has served as the Conservative MP for Worthing West since 1997, will fight for re-election for the sixth time in the election, expected to take place next year.
In a post on Twitter, he said he was “delighted” and said he would “go on fighting the good fight for the people of Worthing and Arun”.
He also welcomed the chance to work hard for residents in Angmering and Findon, which will now be included as part of the constituency after a boundary review.

Sir Peter said: “My prime focus continues to be on promoting the wellbeing, health and happiness of my constituents.
“Thank you to those who support me in moving forward, not backward, as their representative in Parliament.”
At the last general election, Sir Peter was re-elected with a majority of almost 15,000 over his Labour rival Beccy Cooper - who now serves as the leader of Worthing Borough Council.
