Trains have been delayed after emergency services responded to an incident at a railway station.
Lines were temporarily blocked after police responded to the incident after concerns for the welfare of a woman.
The emergency service response resulted in around 15 minutes of delays to trains leaving Eastbourne station.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said: “We were called to Eastbourne railway station at 9.50am this morning following concerns for the welfare of a woman.

“Officers attended and the woman was detained under the Mental Health Act before being taken to hospital for assessment.”
Following the incident lines have since re-opened with disruption now easing in the area.
