A person has been airlifted to hospital in a life-threatening condition after being pulled out of the sea.
Emergency services including paramedics, the coastguard and an air ambulance were called to Royal Parade in Eastbourne this afternoon after receiving reports of a person in the water.
A spokesman from South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “South East Coast Ambulance Service was called shortly before 2pm today to reports of a person in the water at Royal Parade, Eastbourne.
“Ambulance crews attended alongside the fellow emergency workers and Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Service.
“A person was treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital in London in a life-threatening condition.”
