A young man was killed in a car crash on a major road.
Finlay Pitt, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on the A29 in Pulborough.
Emergency services were called to Stane Street, between Pulborough and Adversane, at about 9.30pm on Thursday, February 16.
Finlay, from Broadford Bridge near Pulborough, was “loved by everyone”.
In a statement, his family said: “We are heartbroken as a family. Finlay was loved by everyone, he was a son to David and Morag, brother to Lewis and Esther, and boyfriend and soulmate to Zoe.
“We would like to thank the police for being so caring, and we would like to thank our family and friends, including everyone at Pulborough Rugby Football Club for all their support.”
After the crash, the road was closed into the following morning while police investigated.
Debris was scattered across the road.
Access to nearby Brinsbury College was granted from the Billingshurst side, with the Pulborough side remaining closed to the public.
Police are investigating the accident, in which a blue Hyundai left the road.
