A cannabis farm has been busted in a police raid, with officers confiscating a "significant quantity" of the drug.

The raid took place in Purbeck Place in Littlehampton earlier today.

Officers were seen filing out of a property each carrying large bags believed to be filled with the Class B drug.

A witness suggested that there could have been hundreds of plants seized in the operation.

Multiple officers took part in the bust on Wednesday, February 15.

Police said the raid went ahead after a report from a member of the public.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "We’ve seized a significant quantity of cannabis plants from a house in Purbeck Place, Littlehampton, this afternoon following a report from a member of public.

"An investigation has been launched and anyone with any information is asked to contact us online or via 101, quoting serial 601 of 14/02."
