Motorists are facing severe delays along the A259 following an accident.
The Norfolk Bridge in Shoreham is partially blocked in both directions after a crash between the A283 Shoreham Road by The Bridge Inn roundabout and The Saltings roundabout.
Traffic heading eastbound is stretching as far back as Lancing due to the crash, with congestion also reported along Grinstead Lane and the Shoreham Bypass.
Emergency services have been called to the scene and the road has been closed.
Sussex Police have been contacted for comment.
