A vigil in memory of a transgender teenager who was fatally stabbed is to be held at a city centre park.
Mourners will gather in Victoria Gardens, in Brighton, to hold a candlelit vigil to commemorate Brianna Ghey.
The 16-year-old was fatally stabbed in a park near Warrington on Saturday.
Brianna was transgender and had a large following on the social media platform TikTok.
However, police have said there is no evidence to suggest her death was a hate crime.
A boy and a girl, both aged 15, have been arrested on suspicion of her murder and remain in custody, Cheshire Police said.
The vigil in Victoria Gardens is one of many across the country this week, organised by members of the transgender community.
Crowds will gather at Victoria Gardens, near Marlborough Place, at 6.30pm on Wednesday, February 15.
A GoFundMe crowdfunding page set up to help Brianna’s family has passed £67,000 in donations just one day after it was set up.
In a tribute issued after Brianna’s death on behalf of her family, they said the teenager was a “much-loved daughter, granddaughter, and baby sister
“She was a larger-than-life character who would leave a lasting impression on all that met her. Brianna was beautiful, witty and hilarious. Brianna was strong, fearless and one of a kind.
“The loss of her young life has left a massive hole in our family, and we know that the teachers and her friends who were involved in her life will feel the same.”
The event is organised by the Brighton Dyke Collective. Posting on Instagram, a spokesman said: "Rest In Peace Brianna Ghey.
"We will unite as a community and mourn the loss of Brianna, this Wednesday 15th at 6:30pm at Victoria Gardens."
A poster said: "Join us in our mourning of Brianna Ghey, and countless other trans lives.
"You're welcome to bring your own candles."
