The winner of ITV’s The Voice will be joining Grammy award-winning vocalist Billy Ocean in the city for his UK tour.
Nurse Anthonia Edwards, 25, won the show last year and caught Billy Ocean’s attention with her rendition of his 1976 track Love Really Hurts Without You.
She will be joining Billy Ocean for his greatest hits tour which includes a performance at The Brighton Centre on March 25.
Anthonia said: “I’m so excited to be going on my first ever tour, and it’s an absolute honour for it to be with a legend like Billy Ocean.
“I’ve grown up with his music, and actually released a cover of Love Really Hurts Without You last year so this is all a bit surreal.
“I can’t wait to get out and perform in front of his amazing fans across the UK.”
Anthonia was coached to victory on last year’s series of ITV’s The Voice UK by Sir Tom Jones, beating four other finalists to take the crown.
She has since signed a recording contact with record label EMI, and released her debut single Anyone, a reimagined version of the hit single by Justin Bieber, with new music planned for release later this year.
Billy Ocean said: “When I saw Anthonia’s performances on The Voice and then her version of Love Really Hurts, I knew she would be the perfect opening artist for the UK tour.”
