A father and son team will try to gain investment in their business on Dragons’ Den tonight.
Peter and Chris Maxted will appear on the BBC TV show to pitch their company which sells safety gates for dogs.
The product, called the Dog G8, has gained viral fame on TikTok with 80 million views on social media, as well as appearing at pedigree dog show Crufts.
Peter, from Horsham, said he was inspired to set up the business after working as a pet sitter for over 20 years.
He said after trialling other gates in the market he found they were “inadequate and ineffective enough to work for all breeds”.
Peter and his son, Chris, produced the gate which can be attached to any PVC door or surface and is portable and retractable.
As well as stopping dogs from escaping from homes the gates can also help to protect visitors such as postal workers from pets.
Dog gates are available with a range of accessories and are prices start at just over £60.
The business has seen a lot of success with customers from the UK, Europe and the United States, as well as winning a small business award backed by former Dragon Theo Paphitis.

Company director Chris has also been working alongside the University of Liverpool and Merseyside Dog Safety Partnership to raise awareness of dog attacks and their impact on delivery drivers.
Statistics from Royal Mail suggest that 1,673 attacks on its staff were reported in 2022, with an average of 32 attacks each week.
The majority of these dog attacks were found to have taken place at the front door, with others in gardens and on driveways.
The company is set to appear in front of Dragons Peter Jones, Touker Suleyman, Deborah Meaden, Sara Davies and Steven Bartlett.
The businessmen are looking for investment to widen their distribution network through wholesale trade.
Peter, Chris and the Dog G8 will appear on Dragons’ Den on BBC One on Thursday, February 9, at 8pm.
