A driver has sustained life threatening injuries after a crash involving a police car on the A27.
The crash happened at around 9.30pm last night on the A27 between Fontwell and Arundel.
The car crashed into a police car that was helping with a broken down vehicle.
The A27 remains closed for crash investigation work and Sussex Police said it is not known when it will reopen.
The driver of the car has sustained serious, life threatening injuries.
There were multiple crashes overnight and into the morning as temperatures hit below freezing.
Anyone with information or dashcam footage which could assist officers with their investigation is asked to email it to collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Burley.
