Two robbers who broke into a family home armed with weapons are still at large, The Argus understands.
Two men, armed with hammers and screwdrivers, broke into a home in Hove earlier this week, and threatened the occupants with the weapons before stealing a watch and important documents.
They made off with an Armani watch and a provisional driver's licence, but discarded an electric bike and mobile phones at the home in Nevill Avenue.
Police responded to the report at 3.45am on Saturday, January 7.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said the two men were described to be carrying a hammer and screwdriver.
They said: "The first man is described as being around 5ft 8in and was wearing a thin black puffer jacket, black tracksuit bottoms with a snood covering his mouth and nose.
"He also had his hood up and was carrying a hammer with a dark blue handle.
"The second man is described as being around 5ft 11in and was wearing a thin black puffer jacket, and black Nike tracksuit bottoms.
"He also had a snood covering his mouth and nose but was carrying a black handled screwdriver."
Anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage from the area at the time which could help officers with their investigation is asked to report it to police or call 101 quoting serial number 180 of 07/01.
