A car crashed into a village store and emergency services have been called to the scene this afternoon.
The Co-operative Food shop in Ferring Road, Ferring has been cordoned off after a car collided into the front of the supermarket just after midday.
Pictures from the scene show damage to the front of the shop, after the Honda Jazz appeared to have hit it.
A spokeswoman for Southern Co-op, who own the store, said: "The store is currently closed and we’re working hard to reopen the store as soon as possible.
"All of our colleagues are safe and unharmed."
A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “This afternoon at 12.06pm we were called to reports of a road traffic collision at Ferring Street, Ferring.
“Joint fire control mobilised one fire engine from Littlehampton to the scene.
“Upon arrival the crew found one vehicle that had collided with a premises. Fortunately, there was no-one trapped and firefighters made the scene safe.
“The crew left the scene at 12.35pm.”
Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
