Four fire engines were called to tackle a blaze that erupted at an industrial unit.
Firefighters were called to the scene in Marine Road in Pevensey shortly before 5.30pm yesterday evening, using breathing apparatus, hose reels and foam to extinguish the fire.
Residents were told to stay away from the area while crews dealt with the incident.
The blaze was put out around two hours after firefighters first arrived at the scene.
A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that a full fire investigation will take place today.
