A tabby recovering from cancer surgery is hoping for a brighter future in 2023 by finding a new home where she can remain with her brother.

Twelve-year old Tori was handed into Cats Protection’s National Cat Adoption Centre, in Chelwood Gate, in November alongside her sibling Bert, after their owner moved home and could no longer keep them.

Tori was found to have a cancerous tumour on her back which needed to be removed. Having recovered from surgery, Tori and Bert are now looking for a new home where they can continue to enjoy each other’s company.

Tania Marsh, deputy manager at the centre, said: “They’re brother and sister and after 12 years together, they are very well bonded and definitely need to stay together.

“They may be older cats, but they have lovely, friendly personalities and will be wonderful pets.

“Tori has had the surgery to remove the cancerous tumour and currently she has the all-clear.

“However, we don’t know what the future holds for her, so we’re looking for a very special owner who can help care for her and Bert whatever comes their way.”
