More than 70 motorbikes formed a convoy to commemorate a teen who died in a crash.

India Buchanan, 17, died in hospital after being involved in a motorbike crash last month.

Her funeral took place yesterday, with a service at St Peters Church in Henfield before her coffin was driven to Littlehampton Cemetery.

Photographs show her hearse accompanied by scores of bikers as it passed through the streets.

India was part of the biking community which arranged the tribute to her.

Writing on Facebook, the convoy organiser Xavi Champion said: “We all lost a beautiful soul recently.

“We will always have a space for India in our community and hearts.”

The convoy of 78 motorbikes gathered at Halfords in Rustington at 9am yesterday to prepare for the day.

India's mum Amanda Buchanan-Hills has also started a fundraiser to put towards a bench in India's memory.

So far, over £1,700 of the £2,000 target has been raised.

The money will be put towards a bench in Woodlands Park.

Writing on the fundraising page, Amanda said: “I took India to Woodlands Park from her baby days onwards.

“It holds so many happy memories for her as a child and us as a family.

“Her daddy passed away when she was five but she still remembered him swinging her on the swings there.”
