Rail services are at risk of delays due to a broken rail on the track which caused some trains to be diverted.
A broken rail at Preston Park station has meant that trains travelling through the station have been disrupted.
Southern, Thameslink and Gatwick Express services are all affected due to the fault between Preston Park and Hove which has caused delays on trains also departing from Brighton station.
Govia Thameslink, who run services from Brighton, tweeted: “Southern services via Preston Park will be disrupted today.
“The route between Preston Park and Hove is closed due to a broken rail, so trains can't run on the direct route between Littlehampton and London Victoria via Worthing. There may also be other delays in the area.”
Delays of between 20 and 30 minutes are expected on trains, as well as some cancellations.
Passengers who need to travel from Hove to London can change at Brighton for alternative services.
Tickets are also being accepted on bus services between Littlehampton and Brighton.
