Delays are persisting on the A259 19 hours after a lorry overturned causing traffic chaos last night. 

Traffic is still queuing on the A259 Newhaven Road both ways near Stud Farm. 

Severe delays of 29 minutes are increasing from the road Eastbound between Cairo Avenue and Mill Drove.

Reportedly, the average vehicle speed is five mph.

There are temporary traffic lights and emergency roadworks after a tarmac lorry overturned last night.

A spokeswoman for East Sussexy Highways told The Argus: "There was a tarmac spill on the carriageway and now our teams are there to make it safe for motorists."
