Four fire engines were in attendance at a house fire in the city overnight.
Police and ambulance crews were also at the scene in The Highway, just off Lewes Road in Brighton.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said it was attending the fire at 2.30am.
A spokeswoman said: “We are currently dealing with a fire at a terraced house in The Highway, Brighton.
“Four appliances and an aerial ladder appliance are in attendance.
“Please avoid the area.”
Another update from the fire service added: "A passer by saw smoke from two chimneys.
"Crews alerted neighbours and used two breathing apparatus, firefighting foam and a main jet to tackle the fire.
"Crews spent time cutting away and damping down.
"No injuries were reported.
"Power was isolated.
"A fire investigation is being carried out."
Sussex Police have been approached for comment.
