More than 60 schools are closed following a night of snowfall which has caused widespread disruption.

It comes as Sussex was hit with snow yesterday afternoon which forced motorists to abandon cars due to poor driving conditions.

Around five centimetres of snow fell in some parts of East Sussex last night.

East Sussex County Council has now confirmed that 67 schools are closed, all because of "adverse weather conditions".

There appears to be no school closures in West Sussex.
