No football fans were arrested following England’s defeat in the quarter finals of the World Cup, Sussex Police have confirmed.
England supporters were heartbroken after the Three Lions were knocked out of the competition by holders France on Saturday following high hopes that this year’s squad could win the tournament.
However, despite previous episodes from across the country of football-related incidents following England losses, no arrests were directly linked to yesterday’s 2-1 defeat.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “There were no football-related incidents or arrests across the county last night.”
Sussex Police launched a campaign against domestic abuse shortly before and during the World Cup in Qatar.
