A police car was involved in a crash with another vehicle in the early hours of the morning.
The police car was in collision with the Audi A3 in Cavendish Place in Eastbourne at the junction with Pevensey Road.
There was significant damage to the front of the police car, while the passenger side door of the other vehicle appeared to have been damaged.
A bollard next to the road appears to have been partially knocked over.
A second police vehicle can be seen at the scene as well as an ambulance.
Three occupants of the Audi were taken to hospital with minor injuries. One police officer sustained minor injuries while another officer was unharmed.
A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: "A police car responding to assist colleagues was in collision with an Audi A3 vehicle in Cavendish Place with the junction of Pevensey Road, Eastbourne, on Sunday 11 December at 2.09am.
"Three occupants of the Audi went to hospital to be checked over having sustained minor injuries. One police officer in the car suffered minor injuries while the other was uninjured. The road was closed for vehicle recovery to take place.
"An investigation is being carried out into the circumstances of the collision."
