Voters in part of the city are going to the polls to determine who they want to represent them following the death of a councillor.
Garry Peltzer Dunn, who had served in Hove for 50 years, died in September at the age of 79, triggering a by-election in Wish ward.
Five candidates are running to become the new councillor for the ward: Patricia Mountain (Ukip), Peter Revell (Conservative Party), Bella Sankey (Labour), Stewart Stone (Liberal Democrats) and Ollie Sykes (Green Party).
However, the person who is elected will only serve for a few months before hitting the campaign trail once again for the city-wide local elections in May.
Polling stations in Wish ward are located at:
- St Leonard’s Church Hall, Glebe Villas
- Wish Road Pavilion, Aldrington Recreation Ground
- Holy Cross Church Hall, Tamworth Road
- Sanders House Communal Room, Ingram Crescent West
Polls are open for voters to cast their ballot between 7am to 10pm. Postal votes can also be handed in at Hove Town Hall up to 10pm.
Results are expected to be announced tomorrow afternoon.
