Trains are being diverted due to a cable problem.
Network Rail has warned that due to a cable problem affecting two signals on the fast line at Brighton, in Redhill tunnel, there are delays to services in the area.
A Network Rail spokesman said: “We’ve put those signals to red for safety reasons while we try to find the cable fault and we’re working with Southern Rail and Thameslink Rail to work around it.
“Some trains are diverted via Redhill and others are being “talked past” the red signals over their cab phones, so either way passengers will experience some delays heading away from London.
“We’re really sorry for the disruption and will get this fixed as soon as we can. Please check with your operator for how this affects train times.”
