Commuters at a busy train station have been greeted by a giant golden egg as the city gets egg-cited for a star-studded pantomime.
People travelling through Brighton Station have noticed the egg, emblazoned with the words “Mother Goose”, to promote this year’s panto at the Theatre Royal Brighton.
The egg also features a QR code to direct people to buy tickets, which organisers say are selling egg-stremely fast.
John Baldock, theatre director for Theatre Royal Brighton, said: “It’s incredible to be opening a production of such amazing quality with such a fantastic cast.
“We can’t wait for Brighton audiences to enjoy the show.”
The pantomime, which opens this Saturday, stars award-winning actor Sir Ian McKellen and comedian John Bishop.
Sir Ian described the Theatre Royal as “one of the iconic theatres”.
He said: “Being so close to London, it was often used for pre-London tours, so if you were living in Brighton, you could see every decent London show before it arrived in London.
“I saw Marlene Dietrich at the Theatre Royal and, of course, the connection with Laurence Olivier having lived down in Brighton with many other theatre people.”
Tickets for the pantomime, which is in Brighton until December 11, are available at mothergooseshow.co.uk.
