Brighton has been named the best city in the UK for independent businesses, a new study has found.
According to recent research, the city has the most independent businesses per person, beating out Derry and Edinburgh.
Businesses in the city also ranked highly in reviews of the shops as well as having the most independent clothes shops per person as well as the most record stores.
The research, undertaken by Radical Storage, found that Brighton has 21 independent businesses for every 10,000 people.
The average rating for each business also ranked highly at 4.62 out of a possible 5.
Brighton also had 0.87 independent record shops and 0.66 independent clothing stores for every 10,000 people living in the city.
Radical Storage particularly noted Badger Clothing Co., Wolf and Gypsy and Black Pearl in their study.
Research into the top cities for independent businesses ranked the 50 biggest cities in the UK on the number of independent businesses in the area.
