A charity is celebrating 25 years of supporting families with disabled children.

Amaze, a charity based in Brighton, helps over 3,000 families across Sussex each year.

Founded in 1997, the charity works directly with young people with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as parents and carers.

 “We’re so excited to celebrate our 25th birthday with families from across East Sussex – they are the beating heart of Amaze, and it will be very special to have so many of them in one place, together, having fun,” said Sally Polanski, chief executive of Amaze.

The charity is celebrating its anniversary with a free family event at Moulsecoomb Leisure Centre on Saturday, November 26.

Amaze patron and best-selling children’s author, Julia Donaldson, will be at the event too to celebrate and sign copies of her books.

Ms Polanski added: “All these activities are linked to our 25th birthday fundraising campaign which we hope can raise £5k to help more disabled young people get specialist careers support.”
