A university campus remains closed after a gas leak.
The leak was reported at around 9am this morning at the University of Brighton’s Falmer campus.
All academic buildings are shut while Southern Gas Networks carries out investigations.
The closed sites include Falmer Library, the Checkland Building, Dallington House, Westlain House and Bevendean House.
A university spokesman said: “Southern Gas Networks are continuing to carry out urgent investigation on the gas network at our Falmer campus.
“At their request all academic buildings remain closed. Ringmer House, Paddock Fields and Great Wilkins halls of residence remain open and operational.
“The UB1 bus is continuing to stop at Falmer, access to Falmer railway station is unaffected and Brighton and Hove Buses have now resumed services to the Falmer campus.
“We continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide a further update later this afternoon.”
Brighton and Hove Buses’ number 25 service was unable to serve stops on the campus during the morning.
