An outdoor screening of England’s first match at the World Cup could be moved indoors due to bad weather, organisers said.
A big outdoor screen on Brighton Palace Pier was set to show fixtures from Qatar, but bad weather in the city could mean the screening could be moved inside Horatio’s Bar.
A spokeswoman for Brighton Palace Pier said: “If the rain does not stop, then we will show the match inside.”
Heavy rain is forecast for Brighton until around 3pm, clearing completely by early evening.
Millions of England fans are expected to watch the 1pm match against Iran, despite controversy surrounding the build-up to the tournament over Qatar’s human rights record, treatment of migrant workers and criminalisation of homosexuality.
