Starbucks is set to open a new coffee shop in the city.
Signage for the new outlet has appeared in London Road in Brighton featuring the brand’s well-known twin-tailed mermaid logo.
The new store is recruiting staff, with people encouraged to email Cobra Coffee, a Sussex-founded Starbucks licensee which is part of Southern Co-op.
The Starbucks will be located within a newly-built student housing complex, where a new Co-op opened in July.
Cobra Coffee submitted a planning application in March 2020 to replace the former Bamboo House Chinese restaurant on the other side of London Road, which had been derelict for several years, with a Starbucks.
However, that site is being renovated and turned into a vegan bistro called Goodness Foods.
A date has yet to be announced for the new coffee shop’s grand opening.
The store will be the city’s sixth outlet, with stores in North Road, St James’s Street, Western Road, Marina Way and Western Road in Hove.
