Football fever has hit two airlines who are going head-to-head in match to raise money for charity.
British Airways and Virgin Atlantic will take their friendly business rivalry onto the pitch just days before the World Cup.
The match will raise money for causes including the Disaster Emergency Committee’s Pakistan flood appeal and refugee charities.
Estelle Hollingsworth, chief people officer at Virgin Atlantic, said: “We are incredibly proud to work so closely with our charity partners, from supporting the Pakistan floods appeal through UK for UNHCR, to investing in the hearts and minds of young people with the help of The Smallpeice Trust and Speakers for Schools.”
Carrie Harris, director of sustainability at BA, added: “The funds raised by British Airways team through this charity match are going to support the DEC’s Pakistan Flood Appeal so we’re delighted to see our colleagues taking part.”
The match at Horsham Football Club on Friday, November 18, at 8pm is free to attend. The match will also be live streamed.
Those watching the game are encouraged to donate money through the two airlines’s websites.
The match has been organised by Kyle Reynolds, cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and David Rees from British Airways.
