Overnight torrential rain has caused several feet of flooding which is affecting roads around a village.
The Cuckmere River has overflowed again and water is cascading into surrounding fields of Alfriston, near Seaford.
It comes as a yellow weather warning was issued for Sussex from 5pm yesterday until 6am today.
Lullington Road and Alfriston Road, both near Alfriston, have become submerged again following the heavy rainfall.
It was inaccessible for most vehicles last week and had recently cleared after the flooding subsided.
A red flood warning has been issued for Alfriston.
An Environment Agency spokesman said: “Flooding will continue to affect North Street, Litlington Road, Willows Car Park, River Lane, The Old Clergy House and Deans Place Hotel, Alfriston.
“Very little rainfall is forecast Thursday and Friday. The river level in Alfriston should begin to fall by 3pm this afternoon.
“However, in Alfriston river levels are unlikely to return nearer to normal until Sunday. Another 10-30mm of rain Sunday and Monday could cause more flood risk next week.
“Flood water can be deep and dangerous, please take care if walking near the river in Alfriston. Please plan to avoid driving on routes vulnerable to flooding, including North Street, Alfriston.”
Fields around the river are submerged in several feet of water.
High tide at the mouth of the river was at five metres at 4.47am this morning.
The flooding has continued throughout the day, with the next high tide of 4.8 metres at 5.20pm.
The Argus understands the high tide this afternoon will not make much difference to flooding as it’s a lower high tide.
There has been disruption across the county overnight due to the heavy rainfall.
Twenty cars were stranded on the A27 near Worthing as flood water submerged parts of the carriageway.

Parts of Sussex received more than 50mm or two inches of rain in just 24 hours, including Haywards Heath, Balcombe Forest, Plumpton, Ashington and Storrington.
Total rainfall for November currently stands at more than 180mm.
