The finishing touches have been added to the UK's tallest living Christmas tree.

A tree team at Wakehurst in Haywards Heath climbed up the 37m high tree for final checks on the 1,800 lightbulbs that decorate it.

The tree features towards the end of the Glow Wild trial at the National Trust garden, offering visitors a place to enjoy warming food and drink after their winter adventure.

The trail’s new route features 11 spectacular bespoke light installations, including hand-crafted lanterns, an immersive tunnel installation, and bioluminescent plants both above and below the water in the park’s mysterious Black Pond.

The trail welcomes guests from November 24, with tickets available for selected evenings until New Year's Day.

Tickets are available from kew.org and cost £17 for adults and £11 for children aged four to 16. Children under four can visit the trail free.
