Sussex drag queen Dakota Schiffer eliminated from Drag Race UK

Dakota Schiffer, from Horsham, went head-to-head against Brighton contestant Pixie Polite in the lip-sync battle.

The drag queens performed Miss me Blind by the Culture Club in front of Boy George, who was a guest judge on this week’s panel.

After a close lip-sync, judge Michelle Visage, who was standing in as head judge for an absent Ru Paul, asked Dakota to sashay away.

"Dakota Schiffer, you fabulous woman, you. You put the super in supermodel. Now, sashay away," she said.

Last night the queens took on the classic family resemblance makeover challenge, which saw them paired up with crew members of the show and tasked with transforming them into their drag sister.

Cheddar Gorgeous claimed the coveted Ru Peter badge but it was bottom two for the two Sussex contestants.

Visage, although praising Dakota’s beauty and talent, said she wanted to see more.

Leaving the runway, Dakota, 22, said: "Thank you for the most incredible experience and letting me finally have confidence in myself. Thank you.

"To go out at this moment, it’s impossible to be sad. I’m so proud of myself.

"I’ve done things I thought I’d never be able to do here. I was the first trans woman on Drag Race UK. To be that representation has been an honour to represent my community."

Speaking after her elimination, Dakota said: "My time on Drag Race was wonderful! It was amazing and such a rollercoaster. I couldn't be happier, and I wouldn't change it.

"I was so proud to be a part of the competition, represent my community and be the first trans queen to be on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.

"It was an opportunity I did not take lightly, and I hope I made my fellow brothers and sisters proud."
