“There is uncertainty in the forecast but there is a possibility of some heavy showers passing through Sussex on Thursday evening, which could cause river levels to rise again. Riverside properties in Buxted are encouraged to keep their flood protection products installed, if you have them.”
Earlier on Thursday, November 3, the Environment Agency urged residents to “act now” in order to save their homes including turning off electricity and gas supplies and moving to safety.
Residents have been warned that the situation could still deteriorate and to keep protections in place.
A further update is expected at 11am on Friday, October 4.
