A motorcyclist has been jailed after he was pursued by police for doing wheelies.
Ryan Burtenshaw was driving dangerously in Old Shoreham Road in Hove.
The 24-year-old was pursued by officers from the Specialist Enforcement Unit in an unmarked police vehicle.
When police caught up with Burtenshaw, he failed to stop and performed another wheelie.
He then accelerated away from police in the 20mph zone and "showed no regard for other road users".
Police said that during the short pursuit he "narrowly avoided colliding into pedestrians and other vehicles".

Burtenshaw, unemployed, of Meadowview, Brighton appeared before Lewes Crown Court on October 19.
Her Honour Judge Christine Laing KC heard how his riding fell far below the standard of a careful, considerate and competent motorist.
The court heard the streets were wet from a downpour on January 8.
Burtenshaw managed to evade officers during the pursuit when he went through roadworks that blocked police from continuing.
The officers were later able to identify him as the registered keeper of the motorcycle, and he then admitted being the rider at the time of the offences.
The 24-year-old admitted dangerous driving, failing to stop when directed by a police officer, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without valid insurance.
He was jailed for five months, and was disqualified from driving for one year and eight months.
The motorbike has been confiscated and Burtenshaw must complete an extended retest if he wishes to ride or drive again after his release from prison and the expiry of the disqualification.
“This case demonstrates our determination to catch offenders and to ensure our roads and communities in Brighton and Hove are kept safe," said Chief Inspector Andy Saville.
“The offender in this case put his own safety and the safety of everyone else at risk. As a result, he has been jailed, disqualified, and had his vehicle confiscated by the courts.”
