Strictly Come Dancing couple bring their ‘dream’ show to Brighton.
Aljaž Škorjanec and Janette Manrara have announced they will be coming to the city as part of their song-and-dance show A Christmas to Remember.
The couple, who met on Strictly, will be dancing to hit Christmas songs alongside a cast of singers and dancers.
“We both love Christmas but because we have been doing strictly it has been difficult for us to celebrate it fully as we are always so busy with work,” Janette told The Argus.
“This being the first year that neither of us are professional dancers on the show means we can put on this dream show.”
In March, Aljaž announced he was leaving Strictly after nine years on the show.
He said: “I was on Strictly for such a long time, it is always going to be a part of me and I will always love the show.”
“I am loving watching the competition this year and of course I miss it,” Aljaž told The Argus. “I miss teaching celebrities and performing with them.
“But it is nice and refreshing to do something new, and to look back at what we have achieved on the show.”
The pair said the show will be fun for the whole family, with lavish costumes, festive sets and Christmas hits.
Janette is still part of the Strictly team as she hosts It Takes Two, the backstage gossip show. But neither of the pair dance on the show anymore.
Aljaž said: “It is different but both of us are very excited because it means we get to spend a lot more time together.
“Even though we did the show together we were always so busy with our partners and with Covid years we had to isolate, so it is great to spend the full run up of festivities together doing this show.”
Aljaž has performed in Brighton before, when he toured the UK with the Strictly show Here Come the Boys in 2019.
“There are some beautiful venues in Brighton and it is a wonderful coastal city which I love performing in,” he told The Argus.
Janette said: “We can’t wait to come to Brighton. It is one of our favourite cities and we look forward to seeing all your happy festive faces!”
A Christmas to Remember comes to Brighton Dome on Tuesday, November 29.
