Visitors to Lewes Bonfire Night have been advised not to travel by car to the festivities, with road closures around the town planned for the event.
Closures will be in place across Lewes from 4pm on November 5, with diversions put in place for traffic to travel outside the town.
Residents are advised to get vehicles home before 4pm to avoid any road closures and visitors are being told not to take their cars into Lewes.
The road closures will include:
- A26 junction with B2192 Ringmer Road (Earwig Corner)
- A27 junction with A277 Brighton Road (Ashcombe Roundabout)
- A27 junction with A26 (Southerham Roundabout)
- A27 junction with Southerham Lane (Cliffe Industrial Estate)
- A275 Offham Road junction with B2116 Plumpton Road
- C7 Kingston Road junction with C324 Wellgreen Lane
Parking restrictions will also come into force across the town from midday.
Visitors are being encouraged to travel to Lewes by public transport, but rail services will also be severely disrupted.
No trains will call at Lewes, Glynde, Southease, Falmer and Cooksbridge after 3pm and will not start again until the morning of November 6.
