BT plans to remove hundreds of phone boxes from across the county.
The plans are currently out for consultation but if they are approved Sussex would lose more than 200 call boxes.
A total of 218 public phone boxes are up for the chop, with more possible for Brighton, where plans have yet to be finalised.
The Wealden area could fare worst, losing 44, followed by 39 in the Rother district, a possible 32 closures in Horsham and 31 in Chichester.
Worthing has escaped with only one possible closure, while there are two earmarked for Eastbourne, four in Crawley, six in the Adur district and eight in Hastings.
Lewes and Arun district stand to lose 16 each and Mid Sussex 19.
BT will write to Brighton and Hove City Council with its plans shortly.
