A MAN has died after his glider crashed in a field.
The crash happened this morning just before 11am in a field near Hurston Lane, Storrington.
An air ambulance attended, as well as at least two road ambulances.
The man suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.
The glider could be seen tilted on its side in the field.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A man who was both the pilot and sole occupant of the glider, sustained serious injuries.
“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of paramedics and colleagues from the Air Ambulance service, he sadly died at the scene.
“The coroner has been informed.
“Officers remain at the scene while initial enquiries continue.”
