Drivers faced delays this morning following a crash on a major road.
Police were called to the westbound carriageway of the Southwick Tunnel just before 7am following reports of a two car accident just outside the entrance.
The accident was followed by two further shunts from cars behind.
A total of five cars were involved but there were no reports of any serious injuries.
Two lanes were blocked while police, fire and ambulance crews dealt with the scene, which led to delays and tailbacks for rush-hour traffic.
