BRIGHTON has been named as the most diverse city in the UK according to a recent study.
The city ranked top out of all the cities in the country after being graded on a range of factors including age diversity and the number of independent shops.
Beating out the likes of London, Cardiff and Manchester, Brighton also scored highly due to the number of professionals in the area as well as the number of entertainment venues.
According to car comparison site Enjoytravel.com, who conducted the study, Brighton "crushed all competition" on the way to the title.
A spokeswoman for the site added: "It’s one of the best cities in the UK for its diverse nightlife, but it isn’t just students that flock to the golden shores. Students, creatives, and artists alike have been taken to Brighton for years, and with so much going on in the city, it’s not hard to see why."
.Brighton was placed top after being scored on a number of measures including language diversity and the number of fast food chains. Out of a possible score of 175, the city topped the table with 130 points, beating out second place Reading by a considerable margin.
