TWO men have been arrested during a controversial speaker’s visit to the city.
It happened during Kellie-Jay Keen’s visit to Brighton today as part of a “Speakers’ Corner tour” around the country.
Hundreds of people in two separate groups were at Victoria Gardens in Brighton.
One group were in support of Ms Keen.
The other group, who say her views are transphobic, were there in opposition of the speaker.
Two men were arrested at around 2.45pm this afternoon.
One was arrested on suspicion of assault.
The other person was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer.
Both have been taken to custody.
They were seen being taken into police vans before going to John Street Police Station.
It is unclear what group they were supporting.
Police have now confirmed a third arrest was made.
