Thank you to The Argus for highlighting the achievements of young people from the Crew Club in Whitehawk (The Argus, March 29).
It was great to see more than 100 young people from Whitehawk being recognised for their effort and commitment at the Crew Club's Annual Showcase Event in the presence of lots of their family, friends, members of the community and representatives from city-wide organisations. It was especially good to see them being praised by Inspector Steve Curry, of Sussex Police.
Too often we hear about the negative aspects of young people's behaviour in our city and in many other places. The showcase, just like the Christmas party that the youngsters laid on for 100 local pensioners, shows what young people can do if they are given the right support. This is something that everyone in Whitehawk and the city can be proud of.
Congratulations to everyone involved in the club. Here's looking forward to hearing more about the good things that the young people of Whitehawk will achieve in the future.
