For the last three weeks most of the street lamps have not been working in Sandhurst Avenue. Despite several calls to Brighton and Hove City Council this problem has yet to be rectified. I have been told by the council that it is not its problem but the supplier which is EDF.

The council told me that because the person that deals with this has been on holiday, the fault had not been reported to EDF until this week.

I find it astounding that this fault could not be reported because someone was on annual leave. We are all paying council tax for a service which isn't being provided.
