PART of the A259 was blocked after a car smashed into a wall.

The crash happened this morning at around 10am on the westbound side of the A259 Sutton Park Road in Seaford.

The Ford Mondeo's front left side was badly damaged after it hit the wall of Sussex Court.

Another vehicle was also said to be damaged.

Two people were treated by ambulance crews at the scene but the extent of their injuries is not known.

A Sussex Police spokesman said they received a report of a "two-vehicle collision in Sutton Park Road" at 10.11am.

He said: “Police attended the scene for traffic management, and recovery of both vehicles has been arranged.

Two fire engines attended from Seaford and Newhaven.

A spokeswoman for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 10.17am to attend an RTC involving two vehicles.

“Two people were handed over in to the care of Secamb.

“We left the scene at 11.13am.”

Yesterday, a cyclist was taken to hospital after a crash involving a car near Blatchington Pond in Seaford.
