Last month, I thought I was dying. I am a teacher, aged 29, and I was standing in front of one of my "difficult" classes when I suddenly felt I was going to pass out. My knees went weak, I collapsed, and everything went blurry.
I was taken to hospital, where they did some tests on my heart and lungs and said it was "just panic". But could they be wrong? Could I have had a heart attack?
Well, you had no symptoms at all of a heart attack. By contrast, you had classical symptoms of a panic attack. Frankly, it's possible this sort of panic could happen to you again. So I reckon you should go to your GP this week and talk things over. She will discuss your symptoms with you and I hope she will arrange some practical counselling to show you the best ways of dealing with any future attacks.
