I went to my new doctor's with a gynae problem last week and I took my four young children along.
I must admit, they made a bit of a mess of his little surgery, and a lot of the time he couldn't hear what I was saying because of all the noise! But I was very upset when he suddenly yelled out: "For God's sake! How do you expect me to diagnose anything among all this mayhem?"
Should I change my doctor?
Well, if he has a partner who is rather calmer by nature, you might do better to consult her in future.
However, I must tell you it's nearly impossible to conduct a gynaecological consultation when there are several young children in the room. After all, a lot of what needs to be discussed is totally unsuitable for youngsters' ears. In future, maybe you could leave them with a friend in the waiting room?
