In his column, Adam Trimingham mentioned the funeral of Sir John Cordy Burrows, three times Mayor of Brighton (The Argus, March 26).
A statue of that gentleman used to stand in the Pavilion Gardens just inside the Indian Gate. With the remodelling of the gardens this statue has been removed. The Brighton Museum was able to provide me with a photograph of it but not its present location.
Do any readers have any idea where it is now?
My interest is because as a child, 60 years ago, my parents could not persuade me to pass the statue as for some reason it terrified me. I should welcome the chance to find out if that terror still exists.
