PARENTS are now able to apply for secondary school places ahead of the 2023/24 academic year.
Applications are open for parents and carers of year six students in West Sussex as they take their next steps in education.
They can name three preferred schools, with the vast majority of children being placed in one of their top choices.
Nigel Jupp, cabinet member for learning and skills at West Sussex County Council, said: "I recommend parents and carers take time to consider their three preferences by looking at the school websites or contacting the schools to learn more.
“It is important that applications are received on time, as missing the deadline could seriously reduce the likelihood of being offered one of your preferences.”
Last year more than 97 per cent of children got one of their preferred schools.
Applications can be made online with free access to computers available in all West Sussex libraries. Alternatively, parents can receive an application form by calling 03330 142903.
The deadline for applications to be submitted is Sunday, October 31.
